Genesis 3 : 8-9
« Then the man and his wife heard the sound of the Lord God as he was
walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and they hid from the Lord God
among the trees of the garden. But the Lord God called to the man, “Where are you?”»
Genesis 18 :
1-3 « The Lord appeared to Abraham near the great trees of Mamre while he
was sitting at the entrance to his tent in the heat of the day. 2 Abraham
looked up and saw three men standing nearby. When he saw them, he hurried from
the entrance of his tent to meet them and bowed low to the ground. He said, “If
I have found favor in your eyes, my lord, do not pass your servant by. »
Marc 16 : 2-4
« Very early on the first day of the week, just after sunrise, they were
on their way to the tomb and they asked each other, “Who will roll the stone
away from the entrance of the tomb?” But when they looked up, they saw that the
stone, which was very large, had been rolled away. »
Many of us have
had the experience of missing out on God's blessings at least once. It usually
happens when we are not attentive to God's voice or obey His instructions. In
such circumstances, we may mistakenly believe that God has gone back on His
promises because of our disobedience. However, this way of thinking is
incorrect because God cannot go back on His promises due to His integrity. Isaiah 55:11 confirms this.
« so is my word that goes
out from my mouth: It will not return to
me empty but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I
sent it. » Every word that comes
from God's mouth must be fulfilled in the place and time He has planned. This
word cannot be delayed, sped up, or diverted from God's plan. The promise is
defined by time and space. For example, if God promised someone that they would
be the Prime Minister of Canada in 2026, then the time would be 2026 and the
place would be Canadian soil. This promise will not be fulfilled in 2025 or
2027, nor will it be fulfilled anywhere other than Canada. Sometimes, when we
are not attentive to the Holy Spirit's guidance, we take paths that delay or
divert us from our destination. Therefore, we are not in the right place or
ready at the time specified in God's plan. What is certain is that, as per the word
that has been spoken, Canada will have a prime minister in 2026, and it will be
the person who is in the right place at the right time. And that is how many
miss their blessings and miss their seasons.
We can't claim to
know all the rules for avoiding a bad season, but we're going to share some of
them with you.
1.
Be attentive to the
Holy Spirit.
Psalm 143:10: « Teach
me to do your will, for you are my God; may your good Spirit lead me on level
ground. »
The Holy Spirit is God's best messenger. No one can convey God's instructions to humans better than he can. He knows how and when to reveal them to us. He knows the means of communication to which we are most sensitive and the language we can easily understand. The best way to hear His voice is to communicate with Him through prayer. Prayer is the only thing that is never excessive. So let us pray without ceasing and be in constant communication with the Holy Spirit. This way, and we will know God's specific instructions for each season.
2. Obey God's instructions as conveyed by the
Holy Spirit
1 Samuel 15:22 «
But Samuel replied: “Does the Lord delight in burnt offerings and
sacrifices as much as in obeying the Lord? To obey is better than sacrifice, and
to heed is better than the fat of rams. »
What good is it
to receive God's instructions without obeying them? Since the beginning of our
existence, disobedience has always been the cause of our downfall and loss.
Therefore, the most important thing after receiving instructions is to put them
into practice. How can I start a car if I don't follow the manual's
instructions? It is His plan, therefore,
He knows better than anyone how to make things work.
Acts 10: 19-20 « While Peter was
still thinking about the vision, the Spirit said to him, “Simon, three men are
looking for you. So get up and go downstairs. Do not hesitate to go with them,
for I have sent them.” »
2.
Waiting in Faith
Job
35 14 « How much less, then, will He listen when you say that you do
not see Him, that your case is before Him and you must wait for Him »
Here, faith is
not merely believing that God has made a promise and will certainly fulfill it.
Above all, faith is the act of obedience we discussed in the previous point.
The act of obedience we perform by following God's instructions to the letter
testifies to our faith in the promise made. According to biblical experts, Noah
spent more than 50 years building the ark. Twenty-five years have elapsed
between the day God told Abraham that he would be a father and the fulfillment
of that promise. What we expect from God
largely depends on our faith. (Mark 10:52: « “Go,” said Jesus, “your faith
has healed you.” Immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus along the
road. »)
During times of
transition, let us not be like Sarah, who transferred her blessing to Hagar due
to her lack of faith and impatience. We cannot pressure God or delay his plans.
He knows better than we do when and how to fulfill His plans. Let us have faith
and obey.
